Game Drawing

I thought my game drawing came out pretty good. I think I used the watercolor very well and it looked pretty cool. I had to learn to use light washes and blend with colored pencils. I overlapped some of the cards and it matched with the horizon and vanishing points. The  perspective was hard to get right but I think I did well. The value was shown well using proper highlights and shadows. I learned how to use watercolors and how to create perspective.

Anamorphosis

1. Describe the process you went through to change your object into the correct perspective to create the drawing. This is when you were in the lab. In photoshop we had to transform  and scale it to make it so the bottom was bigger than the top.
2. How did distorting and stretching the object allow for you to create a drawing that would look different to the viewer? It changed the perspective that you look at it and with the grid it made it easier to draw.
3. What were the most important concepts in the project to make it successful? During the colored pencil anamorphosis it was important to show proper shadows and value.

Stencil

1. Explain how you changed your photo in the lab to create a stencil. We changed the threshold in photoshop to create it to be big enough and look right so we can cut it out.
2. When creating the collage background explain your choices of colors, materials (magazine paper, books pages, etc), and placement. How does it relate to your topic? If no relation discuss general idea.
I tried to use bright colors that were kind of contrasting because I imagine Easter colors as bright.
3. Discuss the way positive and negative space was used to create your stencil. I used positive and negative space to create my stencil when i was cutting out the parts that needed to have black and parts that didn't.
4. When using the xacto knife, explain the safety procedures, how to use the knife and any challenges you had to overcome while cutting. You had to always put the cap back on the xacto knife  and be very careful not to press down to hard or else is wouldn't be effective. I had to get used to turning it because it was hard to do.
5. How was your experience with the spray paint? Discuss how color choice is important, placement of stencil, and any other concepts you noticed while creating this.My experience with spray paint was good. I think it really improves the composition's background and you have to put color in certain places for good contrast.
